Our Story

They say timing is everything—and for us, it truly was. We met in the Fall of 2021 through Bumble, in a season of our lives where we were both seeking something deeper—connection, truth, and love built on purpose. After a few weeks of witty banter and meaningful conversations, we met for our first date on September 20, 2021, at The Congregation Ale House in Downtown Long Beach. Eugene was on time. Erin was fashionably late. A dynamic that has remained delightfully consistent ever since. Eugene, skeptical from past dating experiences, had arranged for his cousin to call with a fake "emergency"—an escape plan, just in case. But within minutes of meeting Erin, that plan dissolved. He stepped away, called his cousin, and told her, "Never mind. I think I just met someone different." That night, we shared quirky jokes, challenging conversations, and an unexpected level of emotional and spiritual depth. We didn’t just connect—we clicked. We spoke openly about life, love, purpose, and spirituality. Without knowing it, we were already laying the foundation of something sacred. As the night went on, we moved from The Congregation to The Stave. When the bartender asked what we’d like to drink, we both—simultaneously and without hesitation—said, “Mezcal Old Fashioned.” A small sign, but one of many cosmic confirmations we’ve discovered along our journey together. We closed down the bar that night. Erin kissed Eugene before leaving, and from that moment, we were never quite the same. Though the official “Will you be my girlfriend?” came a month later—on October 24, 2021—we both knew that something powerful had already begun. In January 2022, we took our first trip as a couple together to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico. Combining Eugene's love for his heritage with Erin's admiration of wine, and our shared passion for really, really good cuisine, Valle de Guadalupe ended up being the perfect weekend getaway. And it nearly was... except Eugene came down with Covid the day we set out to cross the border, leaving only Erin with taste buds healthy enough to enjoy our first food and wine adventure. On New Year’s Eve, 2023, in the sacred stillness of Jacumba Hot Springs, we honored our yearly ritual—writing out our shared Relationship Goals. It’s a practice rooted in intention and alignment. That evening, we recommitted to the values that shape our bond: * To support each other’s evolution and healing without expecting perfection.* To hold space without judgment.* To communicate with calm honesty.* To celebrate joy, protect trust, and cultivate emotional maturity.* To pursue passions, grow spiritually, and co-parent with grace.* And to remain intentional in deepening our intimate connection. After ringing in the 2024 New Year and before retiring early in the morning, Eugene told Erin that he wanted to add one final goal to their list… “I don’t want to go one more year without knowing that we’ll be married.” At first, Erin didn’t fully register what he meant. But when the realization hit, so did the emotion. We cried. We held each other. And without rings or fanfare—just truth, clarity, and open hearts—we stepped fully into the next chapter of our love. This engagement wasn’t about spectacle. It was about spiritual readiness. A divine yes. Now, almost exactly four years after becoming a unified couple, we will stand hand in hand and begin the next chapter of our lives on October 25, 2025, in Valle de Guadalupe, with close family and friends by our side. Truly a full circle moment for us. What makes our love so rare is not just the laughter or the chemistry—but the commitment to something higher. We are both seekers, dedicated to personal growth, spiritual evolution, and becoming the best version of ourselves—for each other, for our families, and for our community. Through the years, we’ve often said: “It feels like we’ve met before.” And maybe we have. Maybe the universe has woven our souls together in other lifetimes, only to reunite us again now. This is a love rooted in respect, passion, vision, and devotion. A sacred union. One that honors the uniqueness in each of us—and the divine force that brought us together. Thanks to each of you who have been a part of our journey thus far, and for all that is to be celebrated in our future together. We can't wait to share a Mezcal Old Fashioned with you!

Whether you're driving, taking a shuttle, or flying into nearby airports, the journey is straightforward and scenic. Just a short drive south across the border, you'll find yourself immersed in the beautiful vineyards and charming towns that make Valle de Guadalupe a beloved getaway destination. We can't wait to welcome you and share this special place with all our loved ones!

Getting to Valle de Guadalupe

Traveling from the general Southern California area to Valle de Guadalupe is a straight forward trip. From SoCal: Take the US-5 South or I-805 South to reach the border crossing into Mexico. The San Diego-Tijuana border (San Ysidro border crossing) will be available at the end of the freeway. Cross into Mexico: After crossing the border, continue on the Mexican Federal Highway 1D (also called Autopista Tijuana-Ensenada), which is a toll highway offering a faster, smoother drive. Tolls are minimal, usually around a few dollars. Be sure to have cash or change handy. Follow Highway 1D South: Continue south on Highway 1D for approximately 60 miles (about 1 hour) toward Ensenada. Exit toward Valle de Guadalupe: Take the exit toward Valle de Guadalupe (Highway 3 - Ruta del Vino). Follow signs and local directions to arrive at your specific destination in the valley.

Carpool or Caravan

We highly recommend carpooling with other family, friends, or wedding guests located in your same area. If you would like to carpool or caravan with others and need help getting in touch, please let us know and we'd be happy to make introductions! Please note, if you have Global Entry and plan to use it when crossing back into the U.S., it is required for all passengers in the vehicle to also have Global Entry. It is not enough for only the driver of the vehicle to have Global Entry. Passing through the Sentry line without Global Entry can result in fines or penalties. ARRIVING BY FLIGHT

If you're traveling by air to Valle de Guadalupe, a few options are available for you. Flying to Tijuana (TIJ): This is the most convenient airport. Once there, you can rent a car or arrange transportation to Valle de Guadalupe, which is about a 1.5 to 2-hour drive. Flying to San Diego (SAN): You can also fly into San Diego International Airport, which is just across the border from Tijuana. From San Diego, you could either drive across the border or take a shuttle to Valle de Guadalupe, though you’ll need to factor in extra time for crossing the border.

Getting Around Within Valle

Getting around within Valle is easy! There are two main roads that lead to nearly every destination within the valley. Depending on where you stay, most destinations will be a 10-15 minute drive, with a few places sprinkled on the outskirts. Off the main drags, there are many dirt roads that may be required to travel on. If you have an SUV or 4-wheel drive vehicle, it is highly recommended. If not, no biggie - you won't be going too far. Additionally, several transportation and shuttle services are available for hire within the region. We'll be sure to add a list of options as the wedding approaches. Additionally, we will likely set up transportation services for our wedding day to make it as easy as possible. Check back for more information soon!

If you need to apply for a passport, it's recommended you do so as soon as possible to allow for processing time. What is Global Entry and how is it helpful?

Global Entry is a U.S. government program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. When traveling by car, being a Global Entry membership can streamline your re-entry process back into the U.S. after your trip, making it faster and more convenient to return.&nbsp; With your Global Entry card, you will use the Sentry lane at the land border crossing, which can save hours of wait time. It's easy to apply for Global Entry and you can do so by visiting the <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">U.S. Customs &amp; Border Protection</a> website. If you don't already have TSA PreCheck, Global Entry will automatically include it as a benefit. Additionally, most major credit cards will cover the cost of your Global Entry application as part of your annual fee, so be sure to check in with your credit card provider before applying.&nbsp;

Do I need additional car insurance to drive into Mexico?

Yes, you will need Mexican auto insurance to legally drive into Mexico from the U.S. Some U.S. insurance policies automatically cover driving in Mexico up to a certain distance, but not all. It's best to check with your insurance provider first to see how far your current coverage extends. If you are not covered in your current policy, it's recommended to obtain a Mexican insurance policy or a bridge policy that provides coverage while you're there. Many insurance companies and brokers offer short-term policies specifically for border crossings at a low cost. Having Mexican insurance is essential for legal and financial protection in case of an accident. It’s recommended to arrange this before your trip or purchase it at the border or through your rental car company if applicable. This ensures you're fully covered and compliant with Mexican law during your stay.

HOW DO I USE THE SENTRI LANE TO CROSS THE US-MEXICO BORDER?

The San Ysidro SENTRI lane doesn't have a specific street address, but you can get there by driving to this location on your preferred map application: Sentri, Cuauhtemoc, 22010 Tijuana, B.C., Mexico Follow the SENTRI signs from there. 1. Approach the SENTRI lane at San Ysidro Port of entry, open 24 hours. 2. Display your SENTRI card (RFID) to the in-lane reader. 3. Stop for the officer’s call—they may ask a few brief questions.4. Proceed to the U.S once cleared. *SENTRI lanes aim for less than a 15-minute wait.

What other transportation options are available?

In addition to driving your own vehicle, there are several other transportation options for traveling into Mexico from the U.S. border: Border Shuttle Services: Many companies offer shuttle or bus services directly from border crossings into various destinations in Mexico, including Valle de Guadalupe. These are convenient if you prefer not to drive yourself. Rental Cars: You can rent a car in the U.S. and insure it for Mexican travel, or rent directly from companies located near border crossings that offer Mexican insurance options. Just ensure the rental agreement allows for crossing into Mexico. Public Buses: Long-distance bus lines like Super Shuttle, Greyhound, or Tijuana-based bus companies operate routes from major U.S. cities to border crossings and beyond, including routes heading toward Valle de Guadalupe. Private Transportation Services: You might also consider private transfers or chauffeur services that provide door-to-door travel, which can be customized for your schedule. These options provide flexibility and convenience, allowing travelers to choose the method that best suits their preferences and plans. *Please note: Ubers and Lyfts generally do not operate across the U.S.-Mexico border. Some drivers may be willing to cross borders if they have the appropriate permissions and insurance, but it's not officially supported or guaranteed by Uber or Lyft. For travel into Mexico, it's usually more reliable to use border shuttle services, rental cars with Mexican insurance, or public transportation options. Do I need to attend all wedding events and activities?

No! While we have designed the weekend to ensure there is plenty to take advantage of at our destination wedding, you are not required to attend every event. Please feel free to manage the weekend in a way that works best for you. While we hope to see you as much as possible throughout the weekend, what's important to us is that you are present for our wedding day ceremony and reception on Saturday, October 25th. ARE CHILDREN INVITED TO THE FESTIVITIES?

We love children, and truly value their very special spirits! In order to ensure that all our guests can relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to keep our wedding an adults-only occasion. We hope you understand and can join us for a memorable celebration. If you need to bring your children with you on your trip to Valle please let us know and we can help to arrange for childcare that's available in the local area.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN VALLE DE GUADALUPE?

October is a popular time to visit Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, with pleasant temperatures and generally clear skies.&nbsp;Here's what you can expect: Average daily high temperatures are around 77°, rarely going above 82° or below 71°. Average daily low temperatures decrease from around 48° to 55°, rarely dropping below 41°. We recommend bringing a light jacket for the evening.
